New Page - A Visual Life History

A really old piece of my Junkbox series I just scanned. I've started this new page on this here blog that has given me reason to take photos of really old stuff and to start this project of scanning old slides of work I did through the years. It is a lot self indulgent - but also a lot of fun. I have become obsessed! It is a work in progress and will be finished some day I suppose - but now I'm sorta savoring the memories...

I briefly scanned your new page - lots of history there! What a neat idea to do.

Have a great semester teaching. Summer ends too soon, doesn't it?

I wonder what I am looking at exactly, but it appeals greatly. Neat palette and interesting "objets" d'art!

Thanks for looking Krista and Sherry. What you're looking at here is the results of putting rusty hardware down on paper and letting it weather a bit before bringing it into the studio to finish it as a drawing. I'll sorta explain that process on the History Page. Something I did a long time ago! G.

What an awesome history, Gary! I think you are a wee bit older than I am (based on the history...I don't think I was in school yet when Kennedy was assassinated), but it was so cool to step back in time. I don't think I've ever seen a cereal called Twinkles!!

I like it! It looks interesting, and it makes me wonder around the artwork. =)
Oh by the way, I was going to write on Ann's blog that I got the package! But I stumbled upon your blog first so I'm letting you know first. I am glad you liked my handwriting(not the neatest I am sure) and yeah sometimes it's better to do things by hand. Thank you for your compliment, and I can't wait to see prints of your work soon.

Gary, you came back and I was away from blogging! Oh what fun seeing your new posts! I love this piece - looks like a show winner to me! In a Vae Hamilton workshop last year she had us create rust on paper - was a first for me. Your Visual Life History page looks like it will take a bit of time to absorb and I'm looking forward to diving right in! So glad you are back to blogging! Hope your school year is enjoyable.
