Botany Bay, Edisto Island

Ken at Botany Bay
12x16" watercolor

This May we explored Botany Bay for the first time. A former plantation of thousands of acres, it is now a state park. I just couldn't resist painting my friend Ken on the beach with all the sea shells (that are not to be collected) - and trees that are still making a stand versus the encroaching ocean. You can even buy T-shirts now with these trees depicted on them - rather iconic of this park.

Nice to see your paintings once more.. As always, they are an absolute visual delight..

I love the composition of this one, and the fabulous job you did on the water.

I love how you've captured the 'encroaching' sea in this piece. It's shimmering somehow, and the reflections are spot on. Well done!

Oh, that tree is delightful! Pretty stubborn tree if you ask me. Glad you're back, sorry it took me so long to catch up to you.

FYI: Sorry I’ve been out of touch recently. Among other things, I recently switched blogging platforms. All previous links to my blog have been broken as I am no longer with Typepad. My domain name is still http://www.kristameister.com but my blog has now been moved to http://www.kristameister.com/blog.html

I hope you’ll stop by and re-bookmark the new blog if you wish!
